A. Berker Telek graduated from METU Mechanical Engineering Department in 1991. He completed his master’s degree in “Quality Management” at City University in England in 1994-95. He carried out his thesis on “Factors Affecting Success in Total Quality Management Practice and the Changing Role of Quality Department”.

Between 1991 and 2001, he held various positions in quality management at Arçelik Refrigerator and Dishwasher factories. During this time, he conducted studies and managed projects on quality costs, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, Total Quality Management, EFQM Excellence Model, Self-Assessment, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). He managed the Quality Circles system and teamwork in this context at the Dishwasher Plant. He earned the title of “Black Belt” within the scope of the 6 Sigma studies implemented at Arçelik and managed projects in this regard. Between 2001 and 2006, he served as the General Secretary at KalDer Ankara Branch. During this time, he planned and carried out institutionalization studies such as strategic planning, process management, and implementation of the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Excellence Model in many organizations. Between 2006-2008, as the Quality Assurance Manager at MAN Turkey A.Ş., he managed the works of “Quality Gates”, the establishment of supplier development systems and the improvement of the quality management system.

He served as the “Chief Evaluator” and “Evaluator” in the processes of the National Quality Award and the European Quality Award. He led the external evaluation project as the chief evaluator within the framework of the EFQM Excellence Model in many organizations within the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer). A. Berker Telek has evaluated the management systems and processes of more than fifty organizations operating in many different sectors such as production, service, education, health, telecommunications, energy and information services.

He took part in the development of the accreditation system designed for professional chambers and stock exchanges within TOBB. Every year, he acts as an evaluator within the scope of the accreditation system of professional chambers and stock exchanges.

He provides training within KalDer on topics such as “Process Management”, “Strategic Management”, “Quality Circles”, “EFQM Perfection Model”, “Self-Assessment”, “Leadership”, “Corporate Risk Management”, “FMEA”. He also designed the Quality Circles and Kaizen award process given within KalDer. He is still the Chair of the Award Process Executive Board and took part in the award evaluation of many organizations.

A. Berker Telek founded ORSA Management Consultancy Ltd. in 2008. This company provides training and consultancy services on Institutionalization, EFQM Excellence Model, Process Management, Strategic Management, Risk Management and quality management systems. In this context, management consultancy services were provided to various private sector organizations such as MAN Turkey AŞ, Türk Traktör AŞ, Sabancı Holding, İstikbal Furniture Corp., Kardemir Corp. in the production sector, Enerjisa, Opet in the energy sector, IC İÇTAŞ Corp., Knauf Corp., Treysan Corp., Kam Beton Corp.in the construction sector and  in various public institutions. He is a member of ZAK.
