She was born in 1961 in Ankara. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in 1984. She completed her master’s degree at Ankara University, Institute of Science and Technology in 1987. She worked at the Southeastern Anatolia Agricultural Research Institute between 1988-1990. She completed her doctorate in Ankara University Institute of Science in 1996 with the thesis titled Hybrid and Heterosis Between Orobanşa Resistant Early and Short Inbred Sunflower Lines ” . Between 1990 and 2015, she worked as the Head of the Variety Registration Department at the Seed Registration and Certification Center. She retired on March 16, 2015. She has been working as the Head of the Technical Unit in the Sub-Union of Seed Industrialists and Producers since April 15, 2015 . During her working life, she worked as a technical expert and trainer in national and international projects on sunflower breeding, FYD tests, TBL trials, statistical analyses, plant variety protection and technical applications. She participated in the Field Crops Working Group of the European Union, The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) on behalf of Turkey. She is in the trainer pool of The International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV)  and provides training on Plant Variety Protection Law, UPOV Convention and Technical Applications in the countries of the region.

She has trained and still training public and private sector researchers on the Variety Registry System and its technical applications.

She participated in national and international training programs and congresses on Variety Registration, Plant Breeder Rights and post control tests. She completed the UPOV “Distance Learning Course”.

She is a member of Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, Plant Breeders Sub-Association and Turkish Plant Breeders Association. She is a member of ZAK..
