He was born on 13.07.1973 in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, which he entered in 1990, with second place in 1994. In the same year , he started his graduate studies at Ankara University, Institute of Science and Technology . In 1996, he started to work as a research assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture. After completing his master’s studies in 1997, he carried out his doctoral studies at Karlsruhe University / Germany between 2001-2005 with a scholarship from Ankara University. He continued most of his work at the Institute for Grapevine Breeding Geilweilerhof, in coordination with the University of Karlsruhe. After completing his doctoral study on “Development of molecular markers associated with resistance to powdery mildew in vines” (Keywords: Uncinola Necator; Plasmopara Viticola; Durability; powdery mildew; Mildew; Molecular Markers; Improvement) he returned to Turkey, Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture. He served as Assistant Professor in the same department between 2009-2014 and Associate Professor between 2014-2022. He currently holds the title of Professor at the same department.
His fields of study include vine cultivation, vine breeding, use of molecular markers in vine breeding, Good Agricultural Practices, Organic Agriculture. He has published more than 50 articles, conference presentations and book chapters in his fields of study. He took part in many research projects as a coordinator and researcher.
He is still a member of Ankara University Quality Commission and is the Vice Chair of ZAK.
