Prof. Dr. Canan Fisun Abay graduated from Ege University Faculty of Agriculture in 1982 as an Agricultural Engineer, MSc. She worked as a specialist in YU-PI poultry husbandry company between June 1981 and May 1984. In May 1984, she started to work as a Research Assistant at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics. She completed his PhD in Agricultural Policy in 1991. She was appointed to the positions of Assistant Professor in 1994, Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2003 at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics.
She served as Head of Department of Agricultural Policy, Vice President of Department of Agricultural Economics and Head of Department ofEge University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics. She was a member of the Interuniversity Board between December 2017 and June 2019. Between December 2017 and November 2019, she served as the Vice Rector in charge of R&D and Education at Ege University. She took part as an executive and researcher in national and international projects in the fields of Agricultural Policy, Rural Development and Agricultural Marketing and published many articles and books in these fields.
