Animal Science Department Heads Meeting ZİDEK Panel was held on Friday, October 31, 2025, hosted by the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Agriculture Department of Animal Science.
In his opening speech, the Dean of Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Onur KOYUNCU, who hosted the meeting, stated that agriculture is becoming increasingly important every day and therefore accreditation processes in education are crucial for training the Agricultural Engineers who will guide the future of agriculture. He also provided information about the studies they carry out to improve the quality of education at an institutional level.
The President of the Animal Science Federation, Prof. Dr. Zafer ULUTAŞ, emphasized in his speech that the science of Animal Science holds strategic importance for our country’s agricultural development. For this reason, he stated that including the departments in the accreditation process is a fundamental step to ensuring a quality guarantee in education and gaining international recognition.
ZİDEK Executive Board Chair, Prof. Dr. Gökhan SÖYLEMEZOĞLU, provided general information about the accreditation processes and then addressed the problems encountered and proposed solutions. Prof. Dr. SÖYLEMEZOĞLU emphasized that accreditation processes are important for ensuring quality assurance in education and gaining international recognition.
During the meeting, experience sharing regarding the accreditation process was also conducted by the Heads of the Animal Science Departments from Ankara University, Bursa Uludağ University, Ege University, and Uşak University.
