Bülent TORUN and TMMOB Chamber of Agricultural Engineers (ZMO) Chair Hasan Murat KAPIKIRAN, visited Member of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye Executive Board Prof. Dr. Erol ARCAKLIOĞLU, at his office on June 1, 2026.
During the visit, the following issues were discussed: ensuring the balance between education and employment in agricultural faculties; planning faculties and quotas in line with the country’s agricultural production capacity and needs; reviewing the success ranking and base score practices for admission to agricultural faculties; improving the quality of agricultural engineering education and expanding accreditation efforts. The meeting also evaluated the effects of low occupancy rates in some programs and the admission of students with low success rankings on education quality and professional competencies, and shared recommendations for training the qualified agricultural engineers needed by the agricultural sector.
